Now it seemed as if thousands were all over her. It made her want to bolt and run, but she`d already been in trouble for that.
Emma couldn`t tolerate it.
They particularly irritated her when the gnats got tangled in her hair, buzzed in her ears, and made her nose itch.
She couldn`t help herself and began to frantically swat and slap till she was disgusted with the persistent little insects. Having all she could stand of it, she shouted out loud:
"This place sure is NATTY!"
